Pretty sure there were more, but I failed to take good notes and now I've forgotten. ^^; Somehow (how?!) these are mostly gen.

"Noble Experiments" by Grey_Bard (Temeraire) - The one about dragon suffrage and Prohibition. Mainly clever and fun but there's one line that brings bawww without fail.

"A Great Storm in the Sky, the Sun in the North" by daphnerunning (12K) - Multipart Tai reunionfic that ticks all the right boxes.

"A clear glass window, at a sea dawn" by lionpyh (Bujold, Chalion Saga) - About Umegat. Whoops the prose in this is prettier than Bujold's.

"Dragonsearch" by Edonohana (Pern) - Mirrim and Path rock out on Search.

"Calling to the wind" by Leaf Litter (Earthsea) - As a rule I don't read fic for Le Guin works, but this is well done. Post-series.

From the recent Yuri Challenge:

"Rewind" by terajk (MadoMagi) - Being Homura is suffering.

"L'Estasi di Santa Homura" by SailorPtah (MadoMagi) - Homura and Madoka and incorporeal sexytimes. Needless to say I am super on board with the idea, if not every aspect of the execution.

Also:

"Weathering" by caeslin (Honey & Clover) - Hanamotocest, with asexual!Hagu, which I have been meaning to commend to everyone lo these many months.

--New Varttina album Utu (Feb. 1). First single "Tuuterin tyttäret" appears to be a quality song about girls having a partydance. Ladies I have missed you and your crazy Finnish folk-pop vocal action. More samples of new album tracks on their Facebook page.
--New Spitz album (same day as above, so cosmic) FEAT. "TIME TRAVEL" OOOOH JIKAN RYOKOU NO TSUAA WA IKAGA
--3gatsu no Lion Vol. 7 (March 23). Since [dodgy source redacted] quit disseminating the raws I have been gnawing own knuckles with frustrated lust for latest chapters. Umino my body is ready.
--Hunger Games The Major Motion Picture (same day as above!? DOUBLE COSMIC): basically if this film contains a lot of Jennifer Lawrence shooting things with arrows I will be satisfied.

p.s. uhhh happy winter holiday(s)? Doing those memes from LJ soonish as I finally have the time. Decision not to do Yuletide this year = best choice, no regrets.

Perpetually exhausted. No energy to produce fanstuffs, only to consume. Every night I fall upon pixiv like a starved dog and gnaw at pictures of Nezumi and Shion in love. Also supremely envious of everyone who got to go to Comic City Spark and its puchi-only this past weekend ugh.

Untranslated J-fanwork recs:

「寂しいのはお互い様」 = reunion manga by Majima. Excellent as all things Majima are. Will translate when time & energy permit.

「no.6　腐向け」 by Chieri. "Sort of Nezumi/Shion and sort of Shion/Nezumi" which means it is exactly right obv.

「現パロ」 by Memiko. Post-high-school real-world AU.

「ほんだなのなかのこいとせんそう」 by 松尾. "Love and war among the bookshelves," what a title.

Also I enjoyed 二尋's series of post-series fic. It is excessively fixated on buttsex but otherwise an interesting take on the long term, with switching. Continuing to validate my hypothesis that ppl who view them as ultimately reversible have the most accurate characterization lol. (The problem with these two and fixed seme/uke turns out to be not Nezumi characterization but Shion: 90% of J-fen who make him only-uke make him too uke, and 99% of J-fen who make him only-seme make him way too seme.)

In other news, in the grand tradition of doing research after the horse has bolted, I baked pain aux raisins according to this recipe and they were freaking delicious.

Still watching Good Wife and Penguindrum with gusto.

I've been failing to finish this thing for weeks, which is ridiculous when it's fragmentary to begin with, and after zoesque's fic it's pretty much thematically redundant lolsob but I swear I was working on it way before that, brb weeping crystal tears at own slowness. Also LJ is still half-borked so no one will see this. JUST AS PLANNED.

Nezumi\Shion, post-series bakery shenanigans, probably AU, definitely terrible. Warning for general offensiveness on Nezumi's part.

Kaleidoscope Fanwork Exchange, a "multimedia fanwork exchange for rare chromatic source fandoms," is open for sign-ups until October 8. A list of nominated fandoms is here.

I'd been vaguely expecting to participate, but my brain is so scattershot and I'm failing so hard at WIP right now that I runno. This is especially sad in light of the nominated fandoms, including but not limited to 12K, HachiKuro, Natsume Yuujinchou, Aoi Hana, MadoMagi, and No. 6--aaahaha merely typing out this list has refreshed my crushing sense of obligation to participate. It's like a friend is throwing a party where they're serving all your favorite noms and boozes while playing all your favorite choonz, and you're like "I have a headache, I'm staying home to swoon on my fainting couch." Anyway, signal boost.

「学パロ日常」 (or, as I call it in my head, Nezumi & Shion's Day of Smoochies) by 宮都 is gross unfiltered adorbs and you prolly don't need to be J-enabled to be slain by it.

This post-series manga by うにぞう is A++, but you do need to be J-enabled.

Alas No. 6 has ruined me for other fandoms with its torrential downpour of OTP fanart. Like, no matter how many times I compulsively refresh the ShouRin tag on pixiv, there are still only 126 results, as opposed to idek how many thousand depictions of Flowerboy and Mouseboy In Love. No. 6 doesn't even need a pairing tag because the series tag is the pairing tag. The series is the pairing. Which is like, a magical dream come true.
